Biography
Kevin P. Young is a corporate executive, management consultant and adjunct professor with a long and successful history in the planning and execution of Marketing, Business Development and Business Management strategy, programs, processes and metrics across multiple industries.
He has served in SVP / VP roles for three FORTUNE 500 companies: LandAmerica Financial, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), and Unisys. Achievements over 35 years include announcing AS/400 and RISC System/6000 for IBM; international expansion for Unisys; commercial expansion for LandAmerica and SAIC; and launching USA TODAY for Gannett. IBM honors include Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Award, Award of Excellence, and (as site team) the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Management consultant clients include Amdocs (Israel), Capgemini (France), Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Deloitte, Deltek, IBI, Leidos, Markel, SYNERGY ONE (now Apple) FCU, and USE (China). Board memberships include Consequence of Sound™, one of world’s leading and most recognized music, film, and streaming media sources.
Mr. Young is a 15-year Adjunct Professor of Marketing for George Mason University’s School of Business and is a professionally qualified, AACSB- and SACS-accredited faculty member. Through Spring of 2022, he will have taught 38 accredited GMU classes, representing 111 credit hours, and more than 1,800 executive education, graduate and undergraduate students.
Publishing credits include Time-Life Books, USA TODAY and Washington Technology, while speaking engagements include CMO Summit, Government IT Sales Summit, and Government Marketing Best Practices Forum. Memberships include the American Marketing Association; Business Marketing Association's Board of Directors; Corporate Executive Board’s Marketing Leadership Council; and Forrester Research’s Global Market Leaders Panel. He also advises private equity and venture capital investors nationwide.
Mr. Young holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Iona College; Master of Arts degree from Fordham University; and certifications from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and University of Richmond's Robins School of Business. His new “true crime” novel, “The Night’s Silent Chill,” will be published by BookBaby Publishing and Consequence Media in mid-2022.
