Biography
Alex Gallo is a Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy at NobleReach Foundation. He is also a Fellow with the National Security Institute at George Mason University and the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. Additionally, he is an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University.
Prior to this role, Gallo served as the Executive Director of the Common Mission Project, an organization responsible for scaling the Hacking for Defense and Hacking for Impact programs across the United States. He was also a Senior Advisor with the defense innovation consultancy, BMNT.
From 2012-2017, he served as a Professional Staff Member with the House Armed Services Committee (HASC). His portfolio included U.S. policy in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions for the full committee policy staff. Alex wrote legal authorities, conducted oversight, and advised the HASC Chairman within his portfolio area of responsibility, completing five National Defense Authorization Acts (NDAAs).
From 2008-2012, Gallo served as a professor in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point and Deputy Director of the Combating Terrorism Center.
He began his career as a U.S. Army officer. His operational deployments included a peacekeeping deployment to Kosovo and a combat tour in Iraq.
His work has been featured in The Hill, Foreign Affairs, The Economist, The Cipher Brief, Modern War Institute, Defence Studies, and CTC Sentinel.
Gallo holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a PhD in Governance and Global Affairs from Leiden University.
