Internal Audit Intern
Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution and completion of audits from the planning phase to the report issuance
- Apply innovative approaches when supporting and executing audit work during all stages of an audit, including conclusions and recommendations
- Learn how to document assumptions, methodology, validation, and testing based on audit work performed
- Have the potential to volunteer and assist the local Institute of Internal Auditors Washington, DC chapter
- Develop and leverage business/analytical knowledge to participate in discussions with cross-functional teams to understand the business objectives and influence solution strategies
- Experiment with organizational data and propose ideas for Internal Audit and business users to leverage existing data in new, innovative ways
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
- Preferred majors: Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Auditing, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Business
- Ready to commit to the internship for a minimum of six months with the possibility for an extension depending on performance and graduation date
- Must be a self-starter and adaptable with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Tableau a plus
- Exceptional verbal/written communications skills required
- In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
